Foreshore Way provides access to the Southampton Water foreshore on the western side of the Hamble peninsula. The route runs along the coastal edge, connecting the village to the foreshore and the coastal footpath that continues south towards Hamble Point and north towards Netley. The way is primarily a pedestrian route, though some residential properties are accessed from it. Views from Foreshore Way extend across Southampton Water to Fawley and the New Forest coast. The foreshore itself is a mix of shingle and mud, and at low tide the exposed mudflats attract wading birds. The route is popular with walkers and dog owners throughout the year, and on clear days the views and the passing shipping make it one of the most pleasant walks in the Hamble area.
